WHEN I was told I was getting a stylist, I was a little scared. No, make that petrified.
Having seen too many reality TV shows, I was imagining myself being ridiculed by some well-dressed, high-powered stylist, turning her nose down at my somewhat daggy fashion sense.
That it wasn't.
It was however, a fun way to explore the Stage 2 of Robina Town Centre on opening day.
My day started at award-winning salon Guggenheim for Hair. The lucky girl I am, I was treated to champers and a blowdry.
Alison Triffett, my professional `stylist', met me there. She already had done the run around through a few of the retailers selecting outfits for me to try on (she had previously assessed me via my delightful Bulletin headshot). Little did she know, I was nearly six foot.
After the hair, we set off for the shops, the lucky photographer following us as we stood in change rooms trying on the latest winter fashion. Layers are in, stick to the basics and hats suit me, I was told.
Outift after outfit, photo after photo, I discovered what it would be like to shoot for a clothing catalogue that was all about me. It even got to the point where the shop attendants were referring to me as 'the model'.
I didn't bother to correct them. Would you?
Alison and the photographer had great delight watching me carefully walk down the middle of Country Road in giganitic stilletos, while I found it rather amusing trying on hats which I would never normally bother with (round head sydrome).
While I was on a `strictly work' assignment (yes, OK, the champers was a bit cheeky), I did manage to pull out the Mastercard once or twice.
